Today I gave my youngest son the gift of food: I packed his lunch as I do every day during the week. He’s not your typical eater and rarely gets sandwiches, but today I had the fixings for a pretty nice ham and provolone submarine sandwich, something he’d normally enjoy. It came home with one bite taken and the usual explanation that there just wasn’t enough time to eat at lunch. Whatever that means!
So, in the spirit of Christmas, I am regifting this sandwich back to that same boy tomorrow. Thanks to modern cold packs, I won’t also be making a gift of unnecessary bacteria – I found the sandwich quite cool enough when I unpacked it and then put it straight into the fridge. I’m careful in my regifting you know.
